About Bayside Dental and Mid-Island Dental Associates
At Bayside Dental and Mid-Island Dental Associates, our skilled team of dental professionals strives to make each visit as comfortable and worry-free as possible. Our offices offer a number of general and cosmetic dentistry services, including dental implants, periodontics, Invisalign®, porcelain veneers, and teeth whitening. We also offer pediatric dental care and dental care for elderly patients, allowing us to meet the needs of patients at all age groups. Should a patient feel nervous about undergoing a dental procedure, the team at our practice will happily discuss IV sedation dentistry in order to ensure the patient is comfortable during treatment.

Meet the Dentists
Dr. Arnold Tyrangel
Dr. Arnold Tyrangel is an esteemed general and cosmetic dentist at both centers in the Queens and Long Island area. He is a 1976 graduate of the New York University College of Dentistry. He completed a General Practice Residency Program at the Flushing Hospital and Medical Center after graduation. Dr. Tyrangel performs all phases of general dentistry including cosmetic dentistry, smile design, full-mouth reconstruction, and implant rehabilitation. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and received their Smile Design Award acknowledging his achievements as a cosmetic dentist in New York.
Dr. Stephen Dallal
Dr. Stephen Dallal is an invaluable member of the dental team at both Bayside Dental and Mid-Island Dental Associates. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1979 after completing a general practice program at Peninsula Hospital Center in New York. In 1995, Dr. Dallal became the first, and at the time only, cosmetic dentist in Nassau and Queens Counties to have received the coveted "accredited status" by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). Dr. Dallal also received the AACD Award of Excellence, is an examiner for the AACD board certification, has achieved fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Society, and the Peninsula Hospital Center Study Club.
Dr. Paul Grunseich
Dr. Paul Grunseich is an innovative general and cosmetic dentist at our Bayside dental center. He is a 1984 graduate of Columbia University School of Dentistry. After completing a residency at Booth Memorial Hospital in New York, he began his practice of general dentistry. He excels in all aspects of dentistry and has a strong interest in endodontics (root canal therapy). Anyone who has been treated by Dr. Grunseich can appreciate his honesty, wit, and strong sense of family values. He makes the trip to the dentist worthwhile!
Dr. Nancy Amoia
Dr. Nancy Amoia is a respected general and cosmetic dentist at both of our dental care centers. She is a 1993 graduate of New York University College of Dentistry. While at NYU, Dr. Amoia was asked to participate in the Comprehensive Care Honors Program where she performed advanced patient care. After graduation, Dr. Amoia completed a two-year general practice residency program in affiliation with Goldwater Memorial Hospital, NYU Medical Center, and Bellevue Hospital Center in Manhattan and acted as Chief Resident. Presently, Dr. Amoia practices all phases of dentistry. She also makes house calls to assist the elderly and homebound. Dr. Amoia is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. She also has been an associate clinical professor at the State University of Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine for the past eight years.
Dr. Sam Morhaim
Dr. Sam Morhaim is an admired periodontist with services in dental implants at both locations in the Queens and Long Island area of New York. He is a graduate of the State University at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. He attended a residency training program in restorative and cosmetic dentistry at the Long Island College Hospital. Dr. Morhaim became a specialist in advanced periodontal procedures and dental implants at Boston University School of Post-graduate Dentistry. The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the largest implant organization in the world, has granted Dr. Morhaim diplomat status which is a distinction that has been reached by less than 4% of all current ICOI members. He is the past clinical director of the Periodontal and Implant Surgery Center at the Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens and is also a member of the Academy of Periodontolgy and the Northeast Society of Periodontics.
Dr. Jan Sherman
Dr. Jan Sherman is a valuable member of our dental team at our Mid-Island boutique in Long Island, New York. He is a 1973 graduate of the State University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Sherman completed a two-year general practice residency at Nassau County Medical Center. Shortly after, Dr. Sherman established a successful private practice. As of January 2002, Dr. Sherman has joined the group practice at Mid-Island Dental Associates and has also attended at Nassau County Medical Center. Dr. Sherman was the Team Dentist for the New York Islanders Hockey Team for 18 years. He is also a member of numerous professional groups including the Academy of General Dentistry, Nassau County Dental Society, Academy of Sports Dentistry, Charter member Academy of Professional Sports Team Dentistry, and the Academy of Experts in the Treatment of Traumatic Stress.
Dr. Andrew Demos
Dr. Demos is a Board Certified Orthodontist practicing in our Bayside and Hicksville locations. Dr. Demos is a graduate of the University of Pittsburg School of Dental Medicine and completed a two year specialty program in orthodontics at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a diplomat of The American Board of Orthodontics, and a member of The American Association of Orthodontists. He prides himself in being skilled in the most advanced and newest techniques in orthodontics including invisalign®. Patients of Dr. Demos are comforted by his caring personality and his attention to detail.

Our offices are open Monday through Saturday, with convenient evening hours available. There is a doctor on call 24 hours seven days a week to care for any dental emergency you may have.
Dental Emergencies
With flexible office hours and on call doctors 24 hours seven days a week, Bayside and Mid-Island Dental Associates can care for any dental emergencies that may arise. In addition, with an on-premise dental lab our practice can treat almost any unforeseen accident the same day.

Financial Arrangements
At Bayside Dental and Mid-Island Dental Associates, payment is expected at the time that a dental service is performed. We accept payment in the form of cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Different financial arrangements can be arranged with our office manager if your treatment involves dental insurance or some form of extensive dental care. We encourage you to ask us about our different financing options so we can work with you to create a payment plan that is designed to fit your financial circumstances.
Dental Insurance
If dental insurance is involved in your dental treatment, our billing department will prepare all of the forms required. However, it must be stated that your dental insurance policy is an agreement between you and your insurance provider, not between your insurance provider and our office. While we can make no guarantee regarding estimated coverage, we will do our best to ensure you receive the most coverage possible. It should also be stated that you are responsible for your total obligation if your insurance benefits yield less coverage than anticipated. We can submit a pre-treatment estimate if you would like to learn what your expected insurance coverage will be. Generally, your insurer will be able to send you a detailed response to this request within four to six weeks.
Cosmetic Dentistry and Insurance
Most dental insurance policies do not cover cosmetic dentistry procedures. However, insurance policies often provide partial benefits if a patient's teeth are severely damaged or require restoration work on previously placed fillings, dental bonding, or dental crowns. Most insurance providers will pay an estimated 80 percent for the cost of silver fillings on bicuspids and molars. In cases in which a more expensive tooth-colored or porcelain filling is used, the insurance provider will still pay their percentage, but it will be based on the cost of silver fillings.

Bayside Dental and Mid-Island Dental Associates are pleased to offer financing through CareCredit® and Capital One. These providers offer flexible payment programs that help make cosmetic dentistry procedures affordable for all patients.
